Rating: 10/10
Another great novel from highly-acclaimed writer Katherine Paterson. It captures the life of the watermen on Chesapeake Bay, specifically on the island of Rass. It tells the story of Louise, older of the Bradshaw twins, who hates her perfect younger sister, Caroline. She feels deprived of everything: her schooling, family, friends, and even her name. In a confusing world, Louise strives to find her place and outshine her sister.
This one of the books that could make you cry.
